Before Designing our Digipak we needed to come up with a catchy band name, album name and song names suited for the indie genre, we tried using band name generator  and song name generator, but didn't find anything we thought was suitable and decided to brainstorm ideas and bands we knew. We tried to stick to the idea of overcoming depression and dreams, after a long discussion we came up with this:

Tour Poster Mood Board

As well as making a Digipak for our artist and new album we had to also create an advertisement four our new album tour which would be featured inside of a magazine such as NME or Q Magazine. To gather an understanding of what ours should look like, I Researched into other bands tour posters within the specific genre and this is the results I found, I decided on presented my findings in a mood board form; Firstly Band names are usually found at the top of the poster, they are usually in bold and are in contrasting colours to help stand out. There is one main central image with the image usually relating to the first released single music video or the album cover, tour dates and sometimes album reviews. There is also often a website or social media addresses for the band and production and distribution logos found at the bottom of the poster.

What is a Digipak

Digipak-style packaging is often used for  CD singles or limited edition CD albums.                      Digipaks typically consist of a gatefold (Book-style) paperboard or card stock outer binding, with one or more plastic trays capable of holding a CD or DVD attached to the inside generic.
The front of the Digipak will have some aspect of what the artist represents and what their predominate genre is. The Digipak will most likely embody and theme a message about the artist, hence emphasising the artist brand image, both increasing the popularity
Digipaks benefit the artist and their music as it is a promotional aspect of the music industry, its almost a way to show off, to sell yourself. The better and more intriguing your digipak the more sales you will make.

2nd Shoot - Studio

So for our 2nd shoot we originally planned on filming the rest of the Stirchley scene, however found when we got there the conditions were too wet both for us and also the equipment so decided on filming the studio part of our music video. We used the same cameras but however used RGB lights and also a smoke machine to set the scene. Here are some short clips of what we filmed on this day

Thursday 20th November - First Filming (Stirchley)

So we began our first day of shooting by firstly setting a time to be there, we arranged to meet at 11:30 o’clock giving us enough time to film a decent amount before it got dark. Secondly we resulted in in conducting in a risk assessment to insure everyone there is safe enough to film in the area. For safety reasons anyone filming or helping out wore hi-vis jackets. As we began recording we shortly realised it wasn’t as easy as we thought it would be, with us having to re-record parts we felt weren’t right or because of any problems which may have occurred. However in the short time given to us we seemed to record a lot of footage which seemed about a third of which needed to be done, which we felt was successful. However the only problem is with recording at different time scales is there may be slight changes which can easily ruin the video itself also weather may disrupt us as it is coming towards winter
